“Genealogy at a Glance”–Scottish Genealogy

Scottish Genealogy Research at a Glance by David Dobson. In 4 pages, author Dobson slips an immense amount of useful information including the migration of Scots into Europe during the Medieval period–to Poland, Scandinavia, the Netherlands, France, “and especially Ireland.” Then to the Americas, to Australia, and South Africa.

David Dobson has indexed many Scottish records, directly from archive originals as well as consolidated data from printed sources for better and more effective searching. Only some of his titles are included in this handout. Dobson also shares some of his extensive knowledge of Scottish records as he describes special research TIPS (caption printed in red)–definitions, historical tidbits, where to look, and so on.
